Safely Reducing Incarceration
It is time for new leadership on the county jail issue. Our elected officials need to listen to the citizens they serve. Moreover, the prosecuting attorney has a duty to seek to reform and improve the administration of criminal justice and stimulate efforts to remedy inadequacies or injustice in substantive or procedural law. James will provide the leadership on the jail issue that has been absent from the county prosecutor’s office. He will implement reforms that have been proven to safely reduce incarceration rates. James will work to address systemic issues and exercise his prosecutorial discretion to safely reduce incarceration rates. James will engage with the community, the Incarceration Prevention and Reduction Task Force, and other stakeholders to make meaningful reforms that will improve the administration of criminal justice.
